Senior Tech Field Trip!

ARGS Tech seniors visited the Rolls-Royce plant in Prince George, Virginia!  Rolls-Royce Crosspointe manufactures jet engine parts for cutting edge airplanes at airlines from around the world!

The tour was terrific and informative!  Thank you so much to Rolls-Royce Crosspointe for your hospitality!!

Junior Tech Field Trip!

The Junior Tech majors visited the Chesterfield Power Plant and got to take an amazing tour of the facilities, as well as learn a bit about how energy is transformed.  We also learned how Dominion is trying to make fossil fuel electricity generation as clean as possible!

What's happening at ARGS?

The robotics team is almost finished building the robot cart they designed.

Introduction to Engineering is testing their solar thermal plant designs.


Advanced Engineering is making great progress on the Augmented Reality Sandboxes.

Senior Design collaborated with the Senior Acting class on a role-playing project management exercise dreamed up by Engineering instructor extraordinaire, Kathleen Whittle!  Both the Tech and Acting majors did a fantastic job with this activity.  

Technology 2 is planning their scaled-up models of a binary adding machine like the one below:

Algorithms and Origami

Don't want to forget the sophomore Technology 2 students!  They are learning to think like computer scientists by learning flow charts, algorithms, and pseudocode!

Solar Thermal Plants

Introduction to  Engineering students design and create models of a solar thermal plant that should use the sun's energy to heat water flowing through the tubing.

FREE VCU Computer Science Day!!!

VCU is holding a Computer Science Day on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9:45am to 3:00pm!!  Industry representatives form Google, CapTech, and Ecolab will be there to discuss opportunities for computer scientists!  The event is completely FREE (including lunch)!!
